By registering for any class or by purchasing any goods or services from Alliance Française Dubai, customers agree to comply with all applicable Terms and Conditions.

A. GROUP CLASSES
1. REGISTRATIONS
- Registration: Registration to a class will be confirmed only after full payment has been received. Only the person registered for the class is allowed to attend. The fees paid are not refundable and not transferable after the beginning of the term/session.
- Acceptance of the Terms and Conditions: The validation of any registration is subject to the acceptance of the Terms and Conditions, either online or on-site.
- Personal data: Registration requires students to provide their full name, date of birth, contact number, and email address. Any data collected will be used for internal purposes only and will not be shared with any external entity.
- Registration fees: A registration fee of AED 100 is compulsory upon enrolment and is valid for 12 months from the date of payment. It includes a free membership that grants access to the library, special events, and discounted rates for 12 months from the date of payment.
- Course material: Course material (textbook, exercise book) can be purchased from Alliance Française. It can be collected at Alliance Française centres or via a pickup arranged by the student. Photocopied versions of any textbooks used in class are not permitted.
- Late registrations: Late registrations are accepted up to a maximum of two missed classes. After two missed classes, enrolment is subject to a placement test or completion of catch-up private tuition (usually 1 hour for 2 to 3 missed hours).
- Placement tests: New students applying for any level higher than complete beginner will be required to take a placement test. A fee is charged for this test, which will be deducted from the tuition fees upon enrolment. Results of a placement test are valid for 6 months. Please note that a student is not guaranteed a spot in the course until payment has been received. Additionally, it is not guaranteed that a class will be available at the specific level, day, time, and location that is most convenient for the student.
- Minimum enrolment requirements: A minimum of four participants is required for a course to commence. The Alliance Française Dubai reserves the right to cancel any course if the minimum enrolment is not met, or to offer students the option to continue the class, for the same fees, with a reduced number of course hours.
- Special Needs and Learning Support: Students or parents must inform the Alliance Française at registration of any special needs, learning difficulties, behavioural issues, or medical conditions that may affect the student’s participation. This information helps us assess how to support the student effectively. The Alliance Française reserves the right to review or cancel the enrolment if the student’s specific needs cannot be safely and appropriately supported in our classes.
- Class capacity policy: Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the number of students enrolled in a class reaches the prescribed limit (8 to 20 students, depending on the class type), Alliance Française reserves the right to close registration for that class.
- Change of class: All transfer requests from one course to another will be considered on an individual basis. Additional fees may apply if the course fees differ, and the transfer will become effective only after payment of the said fees.
- Teacher and classroom assignment: For each course, the Alliance Française will assign a teacher and designate the classroom where the course will take place. The Alliance Française reserves the right to change the teacher or the classroom during a session in exceptional circumstances. In the event of a teacher’s absence (for example due to illness, annual leave, or training), the Alliance Française will make every effort to assign a replacement teacher to the class.
2. PAYMENT AND DISCOUNTS
- Payment methods: Payments may be made by cash, credit card, online payment, or via Tabby and Tamara, through the Alliance Française website: www.afdubai.org.
- Payments via TABBY and TAMARA: All payments made via Tabby and Tamara are subject to Tabby’s and Tamara respective terms and conditions.
- Limited-time discounts: Limited-time discounts may be offered by the Alliance Française Dubai. Under no circumstances will they be applied outside of the designated promotional period.
- Early bird registration: An early bird discount of 10% on tuition fees will apply to early registrations, until a date specified in our communication supports (emails, social medias, etc.). Under no circumstances will it be applied outside of the designated period. This discount is applicable to registration done online or onsite and cannot be combined with other offers or promotions.
- Late bird registration: A 25% discount on tuition fees will apply for late registrations (3 weeks or more missed), subject to a placement test or completion of catch-up private tuition. This discount isn’t applicable online, only for onsite registration at our counter and cannot be combined with other offers or promotions.
- New student discount: A 10% discount can apply on tuition fees for any new student, who never enrolled to any class at Alliance Française Dubai (with exception to a trial class). This discount is applicable to registration done online or onsite and cannot be combined with other offers or promotions.
- Family members discount: For families registering more than one member, a 10% discount will be applied to the course fee starting from the second family member. This discount cannot be combined with other offers or promotions.
- FAZAA, ESAAD, Emirates Platinum and other discounts linked to a card or membership: These discounts are available upon presentation of a valid card and ID and apply only to immediate family members of the cardholder (partner, children). These discounts must be applied during registration and cannot be combined with any other promotions or discounts. Valid cards must be presented for each term/session. These discounts aren’t applicable online, only for onsite registration at our counter.
- General discount conditions: Discounts apply to course fees only and are not applicable to registration fees, learning materials, camps, workshops, exams, or any other product unless mentioned otherwise. Discounts cannot be applied retroactively to registrations that have already been paid. The Alliance Française reserves the right to cancel any discount scheme at any time, including those mentioned in these Terms and Conditions, without prior notice.
3. RULE AND REGULATIONS
- Attendance and Absences: Students must attend all classes punctually and regularly. Absences for personal reasons will not be compensated in any form. It is the student’s responsibility to make up for any missed content, via the textbook, Apolearn content and/or private tuition catch-up class.
- Responsabilities: Alliance Française and its management shall not be held responsible for any damages, losses or injuries during the course of study.
- Code of conduite: students and staff are expected to uphold a high standard of conduct at all times. The Management of Alliance Française enforces a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of aggression, harassment, or rudeness directed at staff or students. The Management of Alliance Française reserves the right to suspend or expel any student whose behaviour negatively affects the reputation or safety of its staff and students.
- Children’s Supervision: Children are supervised only during their scheduled lessons. The Alliance Française is not responsible for their welfare before or after class hours. Parents or guardians must remain on the premises until the class begins and return a few minutes before it ends.
- Photos and recording: Students are not allowed to take photos, videos, or make any kind of recording during class without prior permission from both the management and the teacher. Sharing any photos or recordings of the class outside the group of class participants is strictly prohibited without prior written permission from both the management and the individuals appearing on the images.
4. CANCELLATION, REFUNDS AND CREDIT NOTES
Cancellation by Alliance Française :
- Insufficient enrolment: In case of cancellation due to insufficient enrolment, students may choose to defer their course to the next session or receive a refund or credit note.
- Unforeseen circumstances: The Alliance Française Dubai reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a session or class due to unforeseen circumstances (such as, but not limited to, a newly declared public holiday, changes to school holidays calendar, adverse weather conditions, sanitary measures, or a teacher’s medical leave), without any form of compensation, if this affects up to two classes within a course.
Withdrawal by the student:
- Absences for personal reasons: Absences in class for personal reasons will not be compensated in any form.
- Withdrawal before the beginning of the term/session: A refund—via credit note or bank transfer—is available only if a written request is submitted at least five working days before the term/session begins, with no justification required. The student must contact the Alliance Française team by email to request the refund. Tuition fees and registration fees (if paid on the same invoice) will be fully refunded via bank transfer or credit note, minus a 100 AED administrative fee. Material fees will be refunded only upon return of the books, provided they are in perfect condition with no writing or markings.
- Withdrawal after the beginning of the term/session: No refund requests will be accepted under any circumstances from the start date of the term/session.
Credit notes can be issued for the very specific reasons listed below, with supporting documents:
– For medical reasons, upon submission of a valid medical certificate.
– For professional reasons, upon submission of a signed and stamped letter from the employer confirming the student’s inability to continue.
To request a credit note, the “Credit Note Request Form” must be submitted by email together with all required supporting documents. The refund will be calculated based on the pro-rated cost of classes held up to the withdrawal date, regardless of attendance, with a 100 AED administrative fee deducted from the course fee. Registration fees and material fees are non-refundable.
Refunds via Credit Note:
- The Credit note will appear in the student’s profile within 15 working days after approval.
- The credit note is valid for six months from the date of issuance and is non-refundable. It may be used to purchase any goods or services offered by Alliance Française Dubai.
- Classes paid with Credit note cannot be refunded or re-credited.
Refunds via bank transfer:
- Refunds are processed via bank transfer may take up to 15 working days from the submission of bank details.
- Orders placed via Tabby are subject to the same refund conditions as all other payment methods.
5. PERSONAL DATA AND IMAGE RIGHTS
By registering with the Alliance Française Dubai, students and/or parents authorize the use of the student’s photos or videos taken on-site for publications, social media, and other official communications, created for purposes of promoting the activities of Alliance Française Dubai exclusively.
To opt out, a request must be sent to info@afdubai.org.
The Alliance Française Dubai may collect and process student information for internal use only.
B. PRIVATE CLASSES:
- Request process: Requests must include all relevant details, such as level, goals, preferred schedule, and location. Once payment is confirmed, Alliance Française Dubai will take the necessary steps to assign an available teacher at the preferred time and location within 15 days of payment receipt.
- Private class for 2 or 3 participants: All participants must have the same level and learning goals in French and belong to the same age group.
- Private class confirmation: Once a teacher is confirmed, a class calendar will be provided to the student. Alliance Française Dubai may not be able to accommodate all requests due to teacher availability at the preferred time and location. In such cases, a full refund will be issued via bank transfer.
- Packages: Different packages are available, with varying numbers of hours (12 or 21 hours) and participants (1 to 3). Packages must be used within six months from the date of purchase (Summer and Christmas vacations are not included in the 6 months period).
- Material: Students may need to purchase textbooks or other materials at an additional cost unless otherwise specified.
- Location: Private tuition can be organized online or at our centres (Oud Metha and Dubai Knowledge Park), depending on teacher availability. Classes cannot be conducted at the student’s home.
- Registration fees: A registration fee of AED 100 is compulsory upon enrolment and is valid for 12 months from the date of payment. It includes a free membership that grants access to the library, special events, and discounted rates for 12 months.
- Placement test: For students who are not complete beginners, a placement test is recommended to confirm their level.
- Private class renewal: Students wishing to continue must inform Alliance Française and purchase a new package once the same teacher’s availability is confirmed. Payment must be made at least 48 hours before the first renewed class. Alliance Française reserves the right to discontinue a private tuition at the end of a package.
- Student’s delay: Classes will not be extended due to student lateness, and no refund will be given.
- Cancellation with sufficient notice: Classes cancelled with at least 48 hours’ notice will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient date. All cancellations must be communicated to Alliance Française Dubai by email: admin.languagedkp@afdubai.org. For minors, cancellations must be made by the parents.
- Cancellation with insufficient notice: Classes cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled lesson will be fully charged, without refund or rescheduling. All cancellations must be communicated to Alliance Française Dubai by email: admin.languagedkp@afdubai.org.
- Breaks in the study course: For breaks due to student reasons, package validity will not be extended unless a medical certificate is provided. For breaks due to teacher’s absence, package validity may be extended for the same duration as the break.
- Withdrawal: Cancelling an ongoing private class forfeits any right to a refund. A credit note may be issued, valid for six months, with the only purpose to transfer to a group class.
C. EXAMS AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Exam fees are refundable only during the registration period. No refund or credit will be granted in the event of a candidate’s absence, whether planned or unforeseen.
D. CULTURAL EVENTS:
- Refunds/Credit Notes are only permitted if the event is cancelled by the Alliance Française.
E. LIBRARY:
- No refunds or downgrades are allowed for Library memberships.
