"together&now festival"
Alliance for the future
a fringe festival to francofilm
For gardening lovers, eco-conscious families and all of you who think that it is possible to act now for our children’s future, Alliance Française Dubai, alongside the renowned francofilm, is offering its first festival for eco-citizens!
The Festival presents an inspiring art exhibition and unfolds into open & festive days from 4th to 7th March 2021, featuring a series of entertaining, educational activities at Alliance Française Oud Metha and online, to support eco-citizenship & ecological transition

What to expect?
🌴 Get inspired with discussions and meditations around inspiring films, conferences, an exhibition, markets...
🌴 Find out more about the actions implemented in the UAE by citizens, associations & companies.
🌴 Connect with people willing to take action & implement the ecological transition at your scale in simple ways.
And because, the future depends on now, we are ensuring that the Sanitary protocols issued by UAE government are strictly followed. All activities (except cinema) will be held outdoors. Pre-registration is required as slots will be reserved on a first-come-first-serve basis. Together&now is a free event open to all with limited capacity. Screenings, talks and workshops require prior registration. See full schedule below.

Art exhibition - The World is Too Much with Us (Feb 22 to March 7) is the title of a poem written by the poet William Wordsworth, observing at the end of the 19th century the estrangement of Man and Nature. This exhibition, curated by curator Anna Seaman, presents the work of 6 artists living in the UAE who, echoing the poem, call to protect the ecosystem. In partnership with The Sustainable City. A meeting with the artists will take place at the end of the exhibition on Sunday March 7 at 5.30 pm.
Cinema - A parallel event to francofilm which this year explores the sustainable development objectives on the big screen, our Docu-debate selection of 15 feature and medium-length films will be screened throughout the festival. Enjoy films for all ages, which will leave you moved and amazed, which will make you want to react, bounce back and get involved. And to extend the films, the AF invites you to meet their protagonists for exclusive discussions.
Thought-provoking discussions - Chat with the prodigy of agroecology Maxime de Rostolan and share the incredible experience of committed director Patrick Rouxel who reintroduced bears to the Borneo forest. Follow the tribulations of the first "Food Coop" with Nicolas Bole and meet those who are inventing a New World, with the director Yann Richet. Want to live a unique experience? We invite you to a film-meditation around a road movie in the footsteps of a young executive of a multinational in searching for the meaning of his life.
Workshops, demos and information stalls inspiring encounters for children and adults covering topics such as beekeeping, climate issues, upcycling, biodynamics, zero waste, composting, etc. to help you act at your own level in favor of the transition. Bring your e-waste!
Flea market & Green bazaar featuring eco-conscious and sustainability-aware products.
A bewitching storytelling performance led in French & English on the 4 elements, earth, wind, water and fire.
For more fun, we have teamed up with the famous Namur Nature festival in Wallonia, one of the oldest film festivals dedicated to nature films, to present their best short films to you in 2020! Each film will therefore be preceded by a 5-minute amateur short film taken from this French-speaking selection.
